The Nvidia GTX 580 cards have been out in the wild for over 2 months now, and with the significantly improved cooling solution (and better heat management on the GF 110 chip), it’s not surprising to see overclocked cards coming out in the market.
Today we look at Zotac’s GTX 580 AMP! Edition which comes with a factory overclock of 815MHz on the Core clock (over reference Nvidia speeds of 772MHz) and a Memory speed of 4100Mhz (over reference speeds of 4008Mhz). That’s a 5.6% core speed and 2.3% memory speed overclock. The price hike here is almost 5.8%. Let’s see if the performance matches those numbers.
Before jumping onto the benchmarks, let’s just take a very quick look at the GTX 580 AMP! Edition. It’s practically the same reference card design from Nvidia, I guess the stock cooler was too good to warrant any extra work on the cooling solution from Zotac’s side.
